Is Myspace Dead..?

     Seriously though, who would have guessed that the social networking behemoth that sparked the online indie music craze would be bested by the uber geeky facebook?

It's Even Gone This Far.....

      When "The Hollywood Rx Records" was formed in  was first launched Myspace was our bread and butter. Within weeks of posting our Midnight Reign Page we had received over 5,000 hits.  This was due in part to our dedicated street team and a well placed ad in metal edge magazine.

    

     Now it is a win to get even 1,000 hits a month.  Myspace's new format is awful. Just google myspace suck and see for yourself how many frustrated people were forced into the arms of the cold and impersonal facebook.  What makes this change so bad for musicians is that there are almost no ways of gaining a following via facebook without upsetting their anti-spam mechanism.

      In my opinion Myspace is dead... All we can do is wait for the next wave of 15-year-olds to choose their new poison.  So buckle up and wait for the next revolution...
